  Black Dog Gelato creates gourmet gelato and sorbets combining the artisanal process with inventive and intriguing flavors. Gelato is made fresh daily in small batches and begins with the simplest ingredients: milk, cream, sugar, eggs, freshly toasted nuts, seasonal fruits, and quality chocolates. We are commited to the traditional method of gelato making and aspire to create new flavor combinations for the modern palate. The ugly truth! Product is made daily as to offer the freshest gelato possible; when we run out, we run out. Jessie changes her mind frequently and so no particular flavor is guaranteed to be available at any given time, but she will take requests!

    The Sundae Station Package includes 6-8 classic sundae toppings such as cookies, roasted nuts, candies, fresh fruit and homemade caramel. Custom sundae toppings such as candied bacon, house-made caramel corn, and brandied cherries are also available upon request!

    Black Dog Gelato’s Jessie Oloroso Creates Sea Salt Caramel Gelato. Black Dog Gelato’s bourbon-spiked butterscotch flavor helped us kick-off National Ice Cream Month, so what better way to close the month than with a peek inside the gelato-making process? Jessie Oloroso, the head of Black Dog herself, was kind enough to give me free reign in her kitchen, which is housed in a brand new Roscoe Village shop. Opened just two months ago, the new location offers more seating than the original and displays few traces of its punk rock past as Bleeding Heart Bakery.
